Exams Results 2022

After two years of disrupted education our Year 11 cohort of 2022 was the first to sit formal examinations since 2019. It was good to get back to a more normal routine and the usual experiences of the exam season.

A big thank you to the students and their families and local schools and out partner Alternative Provisions for supporting the smooth running of the exams.

Results overview

The final results for ACE students were commendable and reflected the work and effort that students had put in and most importantly, they allow students to move on to the post 16 destination of their choice.

There were especially strong results for:

  • Home Cooking
  • PSHE
  • GCSE Art and Design

Our Functional Skills results continue to provide a great springboard for college with 12% more students achieving a Level 2 English Pass than in 2019 and 3% more achieving a Level 2 Maths Pass.

Our first full roll out of NCFE vocational qualifications also saw a 100% pass rate with all students achieving their targeted grades. Impressive results all round and thanks must go to the staff and students involved and the parent / carers supporting them.

Results day

On results day, it was a pleasure to see so many students come in to collect their results and to share their joy and excitement and most importantly, to confirm their plans for their next steps in education and training.

Continuing support and guidance

Support was provided to our Year 11 students across the summer break to help with Careers guidance and transition into college and training programs and we will be keeping in touch with, offering support and visiting our students in their new placements in the Autumn term.

We are proud that our students have secured the following post 16 placements:

  • Barnfield College – 9 students
  • Central Beds – 5 students
  • Oakland’s College – 1 student
  • North Herts            – 1 student
  • Apprenticeships and other – 5 students

We are now contacting all our students and visiting them at their colleges and training providers to ensure that the early weeks of their transition has been successful and to offer support and guidance where students plans and ideas have changed.

For all those who sat their exams through ACE, congratulations and as a staff team we wish you all your best for your future work and studies and look forward to keeping in touch with you and offering our ongoing support.
