Behaviour Statement and Policy

ACE Behaviour Written Principles Statement

The Management Committee approves the Behaviour Written Principles Statement annually. The purpose of this statement is to provide guidance for the Senior Leadership Team in drawing up the ACE’s Behaviour Policy so that it reflects the shared aspirations and beliefs of Members, staff and parents for the pupils in the Pupil Referral Unit as well as taking full account of law and guidance on behaviour matters.

ACE Behaviour Policy and Schematic

The Behaviour Policy of ACE seeks to establish clear expectations, to reward students for their efforts to comply and to provide fair, consistent and appropriate sanctions for when those expectations are not met.

We recognise that a positive approach, based on our relationship with the individual is the most likely to succeed, that students need to understand what is expected of them and believe that these rules are fairly and consistently applied.

In turn, as a staff, we believe that whilst sanctions are needed and remain appropriate, the emphasis needs to be more on preventative and restorative work as this is where the learning and the personal growth takes place.
