Letter to parents 18.03.20
Dear Parents / Carers
Updated advice from ACE
I am writing to let you know more about our contingency plans in the event of ACE having to close due to the current Covid19 pandemic.
At the time of writing we are open and operating as normally as possible. We do have significant reductions in the number of staff that are working and the number of students that are attending. The plans that we have are as follows.
From Monday 23rd March
We will finish for all students at 1pm. Students will be able to have lunch and they will then be asked to go home. Lessons will operate on a reduced timetable focussing on core subjects and year 11 examination subjects.
As it stands exams are scheduled as normal. If and when this changes, we will let you know.
Please make sure that you are following the recommendations from Public Health England and the NHS. Students should not attend if they have a new/persistent cough or a temperature of 37.8c and above.
Please be aware that any incident of poor behaviour may result in students being sent home due to our reduced staff numbers.
If ACE were to close
You will be informed by text message and on our website and Facebook page. Work will be provided for students. This will be a combination of paper based and online work. Some of this will be sent home with students or posted. Some of this work will be available via our website at www.avenuecentre.co.uk
Google Classroom (ACE subjects)
All students have been set up on Google Classrooms to access virtual learning. All students have been given a username and password to log into Google Mail and will be given instructions on how to access Google classroom from home.
The log in instructions are:

- Students can then access the different assessments.
- Full instructions for how to complete KUDOS and directions for each of the activities are in the user guide which is on the left hand side of the log in page.
- There are at least 6 activities that students can do including a CV builder.
In addition, parents will receive a phone call once a week from a member of staff at ACE to check in and make sure everything is ok.
Please make sure you check our webpage regularly as we will be posting updates on there. We also have a Facebook page @ACELUTON which will have regular updates.
